We have just been to the funeral of a lovely lady Janet Lesley Cesar. Janet was the Secretary of the Silverstone Racing Club for many years and made the Club the success it became. She was such a bubbly character full of fun and energy, always happy to sit and chat and listen to her Members. She just loved talking to people and finding out about their life. She was a loving, caring and vivacious lady and will be sorely missed from the community and world of motorsport.
Her sudden death for someone so young and full of life has shocked us all and our hearts are with her family.
The funeral in Towcester followed by the wake in the British Racing Drivers Club at Silverstone was a celebration of her life. It was attended by over 400 people from all walks of life which demonstrates just how valued she was to so many.
The card we received at the service carried an important message that sums up Janet’s attitude to life. “I lived my life to the full make sure you do”.
That card will remain on my desk as a reminder of an amazing lady and as a reminder to enjoy every minute of my life.
